What is Projector Screen “Gain”?

Wednesday, 19 October 2011 23:48 Written by Projector Screen Blog

Projector Screen Gain

The gain of a projector screen is a measurement of its reflectivity of light when compared to a bright white surface.

The controllability  of your lighting conditions are in the projection area will determine the screen gain you will need.

Most projector screens in use today use a matte white finish. These screens gerneally have a gain of 1.0 and a viewing angle of about 60 degress.

For rooms which have a lot of ambient light, you will need a higher projector screen gain for more reflectivity, but this often reduces the viewing angle of the scree.
