Recommend mounting projection screen to studs in wall or from the ceiling?

Sunday, 06 November 2011 22:13 Written by Projector Screen Blog

When mounting your projector screen, you may be faced with the decision of whether to mount from the wall or from the ceiling.  Ceiling mounting can be a tricky proposition and a beam in the ceiling may be much more difficult to locate than a wall stud.

Sometimes, depending on your layout, wall mounting is not an option (if you need access behind the screen for example). Fortunately for you, most manual projector screens come with brackets that allow for installation in either scenario.

Some electric screens can be recessed into the ceiling for a real elegant and refined look, however these carry a much higher price tag.

Go with whatever best suites your needs, but is also SAFE! The last thing you want is to simply use drywall anchors to mount your 60lb screen to the ceiling only to have it come crashing down on you
